BACKGROUND

The IDF was founded by Nkosikhona Mpungose, Mthokozisi Zuma and Thibela Mpungose.

IDF was founded to help the Maskandi Genre with the positioning it into international standards that was mostly enjoyed by other music genres. From organizing events into the well-equipped stadium and change the perception that this genre is for law class pitch. It provides the world class performance stage with high quality of sound that even the international Artist can without a doubt perform at.

MASKANDI UPLIFTMENT

It is in this light that as Indlamlenze Development Foundation have come up with a platform for the Maskandi genre to claim its spot in the International Music map by coming up with Maskandi concepts to be staged at an internationally recognized platforms

In March 2019 the organization staged one of its first projects at Moses Mabhida Stadium where more than 74 artist and 20 Program directors (MC’s) participated.

The event even attracted high ranking government officials such as the Head in the arts and culture, sports and recreation ministry honourable Mr. Nathi Mthethwa.

The concept also attracted media personalities and his Presidency the honourable Cyril Ramaphosa.

The IDF has helped students with tertiary funds and also donated the class seating chairs at Nkandla rural school with our mission of supporting school program’s.

Khuzani Mpungose from Nkandla, the youngest, successful, talented Traditional Musician with the MOST followers / supporters in South Africa. Famously known as “INDLAMLENZE . Khuzani started his music career back in 2010 and has already achieved a lot surpassing all Traditional Musicians including the legends. He has worked with the likes of the late legendary Bab Khulekani “Mgqumeni” Khumalo , the late Mtshengiseni Gcwensa Known as Indidane.

Mr Mthokozisi Zuma, who is not new to community development programs. Zuma has been instrumental in a number of programs in KZN and Gauteng. He has managed big programs such as the glorious Gcwalisa iMabbida Maskandi Music Festival which in 2019 saw the filling up of the Moses Mabhida Stadium by Maskandi musicians, a first ever in this country. Zuma has also successfully ran a music development program in Umzinyathi District for three consecutive years, drawing thousands of spectators each year from Gauteng, Mpulamanga and KZN.

Thibela is also not new to the industry. he is Khuzani’s Back-Up Vocalist and a prolific figure in the maskandi genre. Thibela also sits in the Indlamlenze Development Foundation Board.
